Patrice balbina’s chance encounter with the end of the world

Patrice Balbina ha notato che le piccole cose cominciano a scomparire. Il macellaio perde la sua risata, l’uomo con il piccione sta perdendo la pazienza, e papà dice che il governo ha perso la testa. Anche l’amore della sua vita sembra essere ogni giorno un po’ più lontano. Ma non ci si aspetta la fine del mondo. Poi ha suonato il campanello.

Lo spettacolo, prodotto all’interno del progetto Boomerang – Documents on poverty and hope, è stato creato e ha debuttato a Sydney nel gennaio 2016; nel febbraio dello stesso anno è stato in tournée a Vancouver e poi selezionato per il festival Cradle of Creativity di Cape Town, sede del World Congress di Assitej per il 2017. Nel 2018 è tornato in Australia, a Goldcoast per il festival parallelo ai giochi del Commonwealth, e di nuovo a Sydney.

Patrice Balbina has noticed that small things are starting to disappear. The butcher loses his laugh, the man with the pigeon is losing his patience, and Dad says the government has lost its mind. Even the love of her life seems to be a little further away each day. But you wouldn’t expect the end of the world. Then he rang the doorbell.
Funny, surprising and deeply moving, audiences will see themselves in Patrice, a young girl just like any other, who suddenly has to flee her home to a rickety boat bound for another land. This multi-lingual international production, performed primarily in English, also includes some French, Portuguese and Italian spoken language and takes you on an extraordinary journey.
